This conference would not be possible without the support from the following organisations.
LDA Design has a comprehensive understanding of legislation and policy related to our finest designated landscapes. Our team was responsible for several of the original technical landscape assessments prepared for AONBs on behalf of the Countryside Commission and more recently we have prepared detailed landscape appraisals, strategies and guidelines for designated areas including award winning studies in the Cotswolds and Dorset and specialist studies, such as the guide to climate change adaptation for the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley AONB. We recently completed a review of Natural England’s proposed variation to the boundary of the Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB to inform the Suffolk Coast and Heaths AONB Partnership’s response to the Boundary Review Consultation and have also prepared a comprehensive appraisal of the AONB to establish the natural beauty and special qualities of the designated area.
LUC is pleased to be supporting Landscapes for Life Conference 2019. With over 50 years’ experience working with designated landscapes, we understand the important part they play in the delivery of public good.
We have established monitoring programmes in a number of protected landscapes to underpin ‘State of the AONB / Park’ reporting and to help guide management responses. Our GIS team has developed apps that enable efficient and affordable data collection from local communities. We recently created maps to support CPRE’s research into the accessibility of designated landscapes in response to the Glover Review.
We will be hosting a briefing session at the conference, where we’ll share our thoughts and expertise in helping the AONB Family to deliver public good in challenging times.
Suffolk Yacht Harbour is the East Coast’s leading independent, privately-owned marina. Located in the Suffolk Coast & Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) on the River Orwell at Levington, Suffolk, the marina is well connected being only two miles from the main A14 between Felixstowe and Ipswich and accessible by sea at almost all states of the tide.
The marina has 550 berths and additional swinging moorings.
Suffolk Yacht Harbour’s boatyard, maintenance, repair and chandlery facilities are complemented by top class sail making, spar and rigging services, electronics, sailing school, brokerage and new boat sales, inboard/outboard engineering – as well as a warm welcome for visiting yachtsmen at the famous Lightship, clubhouse of the Haven Ports Yacht Club.
